Thank you all very much for your interest. The scouting workshop series for 2012 is now full. See you all next year!
Here is an idea I have been mulling over for a little while and I thought I’d share it with you and see where it takes us from here.
Last year, I took a client of mine on what I call a “scouting workshop” to Morocco. A scouting workshop you say? The idea behind this is very simple. How would you feel about coming along with me, one on one, to a location of your choice on a discovery tour for a one to two week period. It’s not a tour per se since I won’t know the place ahead of time, but it is one of those rare chances to have your own photo instructor coming along on your trip to some exotic locale!
What would you get out of it?
- once we decide on a destination, I do all the research, the bookings, the organisation, all you need to do is show up;
- you get me for one on one 24/7 teaching/advice/consultation/critique. Any question. Any time. I am there to answer (ok, I do need to sleep a bit, but not much).
- a unique opportunity to see travel photography behind the scenes: how I approach my subjects, how I deal with logistics, I how I plan trips, etc, etc.
- flexibility to spend as little or as much time as you would like in given places: contrary to a group tour, this one is only about you and you alone.
- affordability, since this is not a tour per se, my workshop fee will be reduced accordingly. costs are then split 50/50.
How does this sound? Are you interested?
How does it work?
It’s very simple, I have a few destinations I am interested in, but am open to suggestions (See list below). You get in touch with me, we discuss the destination, the timing, the duration. I set it up for you. We go. That’s it.
Here are my destinations of choice (in no particular order):
Iceland | Argentina (patagonia) | China (guilin/huangshang) | Vietnam (Halong Bay) | Croatia | Greece | Turkey | Italy | Portugal | Romania
If you feel like kicking the tires on one of these places, just give me a holler, I am all ears.
If you are still wondering what you could do with your time this coming November, I suggest you take a look at my photo tour page for some inspiration
. If you still need some time to make your decision, I have just made your life a little easier and extended the registration deadline for my Morocco Photo Adventure until the end of this week (September 17), so come on in and join us for what will be a trip of a lifetime!
I would like to, once again, extend my sincere thanks to my generous sponsors at Craft & Vision for this great offer and look forward to seeing you in Morocco! (if you haven’t signed up yet, there are only two spots remaining on the tour)
I’m pleased to announce that we have a new sponsor for our Moroccan Photo Adventure. The awesome people at OnOne Software, makers of award-winning plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom & Apple Aperture, have kindly agreed to join forces with us.
OnOne Software has kindly donated a copy of their Perfect Photo Suite (valued at $499.95) to give away to one of our lucky participants. Their Perfect Photo Suite contains seven unique tools that will help you through your processing workflow. It contains the most recent versions of Perfect Resize (powered by Genuine Fractals) for resizing, Mask Pro for removing unwanted backgrounds, PhotoTune for color correction, FocalPoint for selective focus and PhotoTools and PhotoFrame for amazing photographic effects. Plus, you get their newest product—Perfect Layers for Lightroom and Aperture. The Perfect Photo Suite is a great value, and it’s currently on sale during OnOne Software’s Summer Sale!
My sincere thanks to onOne software for making this possible!
This is not a fast-paced tour that puts quantity ahead of quality. I deliberately chose to reduce the number of places we visit to take our time, to give you ample opportunity to show you the best Morocco has to offer. The adventure will take place this coming fall and starts October 29th and ends on November 5th, 2011 (8 days, Saturday to Saturday).
