Beaming

Well, I just knew that if I persevered, this day would happen. Mind you it’s not exactly as I imagined it…instead of a beautiful muse by my side, well, I had…Justin, but nonetheless, the moment was unforgettable. Many things had to come together as we seldom get the right conditions around here: cold enough for fog to form, enough fog to get in the sun’s path, enough sun to peak through the fog and trees. I was busy shooting by the water for some time, then I turned around and realised the sun was about to rise, the fog had moved from the river banks to the inner portions of land…boy was I running like a madman to find the right tree. If you can’t make any sense of this, don’t you worry, it’s me, not you…

Fantastic image Younes, love the way it radiates the warm light from within.

A shot like that could warm up a cold house at this time of year.

Thank you all for the kind words. While I was psyched about the shot I never expected the positive response it has garnered to date!

Truly awesome shot! Anytime I’ve seen similar shots, I’ve always said congratulations to the photographer for being out at the right time and right place to catch those amazing light shows.

  9. Excellent work. You’ve really raised the bar with this one.

  10. This is a winner Jounes. Great job on capturing this glorious moment.

  11. Funny how your story of frantically needing to run around to get the shot is in such contrast with the beautiful peace and tranquility of the shot itself. Really, really well done.

  12. Very nice! I’ve waited for something like this too, but we don’t get this type of fog very often. Congratulations!

  13. We have all benefited from your perseverance, Younes. Magnificent photograph.

  14. Wow lots of comments here – and I am a beautiful muse, jerk, how else do you think you took this?

Oh right – you ran away from me in the cold. Do me a solid and link to my site ni the text next time too… crap, now I just sound like a whiny bitch.

For those interested, I got something similar, though I had a 100mm prime lens on and I think Younes was shooting 100-300mm zoom… this is 240mm or something: http://jvlphoto.com/pixelpost/index.php?showimage=778

Wow… yes, your patience definitely paid off! Gorgeous shot. And a perfect reminder to look behind to see what you might be missing.
