Today, I’d like to bring attention to a beautiful initiative called Help Portrait
On December 12th photographers (at all levels) in cities across the globe are reaching out to people in their communities to create portraits.Help-Portrait is a movement among photographers doing portraits of people that aren’t able to afford traditional avenues of family portraiture. This could be single mothers, orphans, the lonely, the sick, people in Develping Countries, your Neighbor, the homeless. The time to help is now. “Grab your camera. Go Love.”
Here’s a brief list of volunteers we will need on December 12th:
* Photographers
* Assistants
* Hair and Make-Up Artists
* Post-processing
* Greeters
* Coordinators
* And more…
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this simple volunteer form or contact Jean Labelle at
Cheers.

It’s a great concept and I’m all for it – though I’m seeing so many photographers sign up I think I’ll focus my energies on finding and recruiting “the other people.” Though, in the end, I might just take myself and a light-stand to some government housing and setup shop in the courtyard; at it’s essence, I think that’s what it’s about.
I think you got it right Justin…that’s what it’s all about indeed!
