Thanks for dropping by Edie!
The similarity is indeed striking, expect you have better light :). I think I drove by these hills a couple of years back , but didn't know my way around enough to try and find a decent spot...next time for sure :)

Thanks for the encouraging words Jim. I do believe that you can make great imagery in any light, but sometimes, just sometimes you wish light would cooperate :). And by the way, Rainier was really nice!

Just saw Jim Goldstein tweet this entry, thought I'd take a look. I've never been to the Palouse, but I've fallen in love with it via pictures like this. There's something very basic about the rolling hills. My attraction seems almost hard-wired, it's so intense and immediate.

Just west of Mariposa, CA, are the soft rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada. They have brought me to near-tears on occasion for their beauty. I've called them the Palouse of California for good reason.

Take a gander and tell me there isn't a similarity!

I hope all goes well on your next adventure to Rainier. Keep your mind open to new opportunities. I've found that if you can look past a pre-conceived expectation when things don't line up you can often find new opportunities to explore you'd otherwise have ignored. Finding those hidden opportunities can be among the most rewarding and creatively inspiring.
