Back in the game…sort of.

camping nature outdoors gatineau park lake summer

If you have tried to get to my blog in the last 24h or so, you probably saw that it was down. No, I didn’t give up on you, just a glitch in the system. One of the plugins that I had recently installed failed in a big way.

In any case, I am back, well for this post at least. I am going on a backpacking trip for the next 4 days to scout new locations for my workshop in the magnificent Charlevoix region in Eastern Quebec. I am really psyched for this trip as I’ve been wanting to visit the place for the longest time. The park I will be camping in is nestled in the midst of the highest Canadian mountains this side of the Rockies (Ok, they are big hills – 3000ft or so), with fantastic perched views on top of cliffs that would make Half-Dome green with envy. So stay in touch to get more details when I get back on Wednesday.

Before I leave though, there’s a couple of exciting things that are going to be taking place on this blog:

- We’ll kick off the week with awesome Californian photographer Richard Wong who is going to be discussing how social media and twitter can be used as a powerful marketing tool for photographers;

- soon after, the Light Chasers series will resume with another interview, this time with one of my favorite photographers out there: Michael Anderson;

- If you haven’t had a chance to see Wednesday’s post, I will be introducing a new feature on the blog: photo-critique. If you wish to have a photo critiqued by me, just send it my way. Each week I will pick one of the entries and post a little critique on this blog;

- Last but not least, another feature I mentioned on Wednesday is a post-processing feature: you send me your raw capture, I process it in Photoshop and post a complete step-by-step guide of how I would process it.

Before I leave though, I’d like to send you to a post by Canadian wildlife photographer Paul Burwell on the mistakes aspiring freelance photographers make. A real eye opener.

Now the ball is in your court.

Have a great week-end everyone!
