PHOTO OF THE MONTH, JUNE 2008

As of this month, I will be displaying on this blog my favorite photo from the previous month. This month’s photo is “The Storm”, taken in Shirley’s Bay near Ottawa. The winter had provided very little opportunities to shoot landscapes. However, this day more than made up for it. As I headed out to the bay, I thought that the stormy clouds were very promising but didn’t want to get my hopes up too high. The closer we got to sunset the more interesting the clouds became until it all came together in the most amazing display of light I have ever seen. The Rivers and Lakes gallery showcases more pictures from this unforgettable evening.

ART WOLFE WORKSHOP

• I have just come back from a week-long trip to the beautiful state of Washington, USA where I attended a photography workshop with the great Art Wolfe. It is a very inspiring experience to rub shoulders with such an amazing photographer. Art is not only a world-class photographer but he is also extremely generous with his time, advice and teachings.
